Healthy Tips
Health Tip #1 – Keep Track of What you Eat
If you have any unexplained health symptoms, they may be linked to the foods you ate. Doctors will often ask you to keep a log of what you ate over a three day period. This will give them an insight into what is causing your symptoms. Include spices and condiments such as pepper and mustard. The most common culprits are dairy products, wheat, corn, yeast, sugar and artificial colors. Eliminate a suspected problem food from your diet for up to seven days to see if the symptoms improve when avoiding the food. Your doctor can then determine if you have an intolerance.
Health Tip #2 – Sleep Tight
People who change their sleeping positions from their backs to their stomachs experience significant drops in blood pressure, as high as 15 points systolic in some instances. Researchers theorize that sleep position is an under recognized risk factor for nighttime cardiovascular events such as heart attacks.
Health Tip #3 – The Best Tea for a Sore Throat
A sore throat occurs when the mucous membranes of your throat become inflamed and irritated. One natural anti-inflammatory, marshmallow root, is particularly effective in soothing sore throat pain. Also, peppermint reduces fever by helping you sweat, and ginger alleviates chills, nausea, and aching muscles. Use one teaspoon of dried ginger root or dried peppermint leaves per cup of water and let it steep for a few minutes.
Health Tip #4 – Ipod Danger Alert
There is no doubt that the Ipod is a wonderful invention, however, it can be damaging to your hearing. If played too loudly, Ipods can trigger hearing loss and tinnitus. In order to protect your hearing, be sure to set the volume on the device about the level of a conversation with someone near you.

I sleep all over the place! Usually with a puppy laying on one leg, one up against my stomach and one curled up under my chin! But, I sleep this way best! And wake up to all kinds of puppy kisses…the best kind of alarm there is! LOL
