Menopausal Women and Hypertension
Everywhere you look celebrities are participating and wanting to campaign about diseases that are affecting our communities and African Americans. Yolanda Adams, will be in Atlanta this weekend to kick off her campaign against hypertension. The name of the organization “Believe in Healthy BP”, is a community outreach program to help raise the awareness of having healthy blood pressure. It is estimated in and article from Dr. Mercola, that 90% of Americans are affected with high blood pressure.
We have and article in the Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper today which tell us about Yolanda Adams involvement with this organization. Please see the link and read it. http://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta/yolanda-adams-brings-hypertension-571872.html. Hypertension poses a significant danger for menopausal and post-menopausal women. The research and study is still not certain, why African Americans are at a greater risk for high blood pressure than any other populations. We tend to be at a greater risk African American women than Caucasian.
Here are some things that can assist with hypertension:
1. Being physically active
2. Eating a healthy diet
3. Lifestyle changes
4. Reduce stress
5. Get the proper rest you need
6. Eliminate or reduce your salt intake
Personally have suffered with high blood pressure over the years and was on medicine for a very brief time. When I understood what was causing the problem and researched information showing that by losing weight, exercising, and eating properly I could eventually rid myself of taking medication. This is the way I choose to go and as of today still treating it with natural product supplements, exercise, and a proper diet.
Nature’s Sunshine has an excellent blend of essential and natural ingredients that can help lower body and maintain proper blood pressure levels.
Important: Always consult your family health practitioner before starting, changing or altering your personal health regimen

Kathy Smith’s – Moving Through Menopause – Book Review
I recently made a trip to the library and checked out numerous books regarding Menopause. I really went to pickup up some books I needed for a health fair I was participating in. The next thing you know I am adding all of these books from various authors dealing with using natural alternatives. One of the books that caught my attention was Kathy Smith’s book Moving Through Menopause. Another good thing about this book is that there is a dvd included. The topic of “Menopause”, or “The Change”, this subject was never brought up in many households. Today in the 21st century we are sharing the latest information and learning from one another.
In the dvd Kathy shares with us conversations she was having with other women. She also shares her wisdom and her personal experiences, and what she has learned going through her perimenopause journey. In her book she touches on a whole lot of information regarding how to maintain a healthy life. There is no way I can cover everything but I can share some very useful healthy tips with you. In order to maintain our health we need to have a cardiovascular program and strength training workout that helps us slim down our waistline and build strong muscles and bones. She also recommended keeping a journal, something I have been doing and I encourage my clients to do the same.
Kathy said, “Understand what you are going through”. This is something I like to tell my customers; that we all are unique individuals and what may work for me will not work for you. So we need to take control and be in charge of our lives and enjoy our stages in life as we go through them. She also has a dvd in her program called “Body Boomers Workout.” It offers you the perfect mind and body regime for all body fitness levels. In the book” Moving Through Menopause”, she offers you low-impact cardio workout, yoga and strength training designed to burn calories, protect your heart, increase mental focus, better sleep while improving balance posture and maintaining bone-density. It was a good book to read and I felt that she was targeting things that I was able to relate too. I do feel like the dvd is a complete set and overall was balanced talking about a complex topic. I would highly recommend that you give her book a read and try the dvd’s.

Cleanstart Colon Cleanse Testimony
At the time, I met Tally, I had tried various diets and was about to give up and just eat. Once I looked at her and she told me her age, I said I want to grow up and look like her. and I’m only a few years under her, but you couldn’t tell. Tally doesn’t just talk health and wellness she actually lives it and you can tell it. The first product I tried from Tally was the Nature’s Cleanse Start product! My daughter and I both did the Cleanse and she lost more weight than I did, and her menstrual cycle improved along with no pain! This was a huge problem with my daughter and this cleanse helped her get on track.
Not only was she thorough in explaining everything about the cleanse but she worked with you prior to starting and contacted you mid-way to see how it was working and provide you tips and encouragement. It worked.
Tally understands where you are at your “now” moment and helps you understand how you got there. She teaches you how to take baby steps and the “c” word that I hated “consistency” was written back into my vocabulary. I’m still working on my water consistency Tally. Tally has introduced me to Yoga, something I thought I would never try, I joined the gym, didn’t think I would ever go back to a gym. Tally has a wealth of knowledge on natural supplements, oils and proper nutrition to meet any of your health needs and challenges. Once you meet Tally, you’ve met a friend who truly cares about your health!
